This Banyan is at Kapilani Park in Waikiki, or it was the last time I was there. Once in a while someone gets a wild idea to chop down a tree. In my backyard several trees were sacrificed recently. The neighbors at the high rise next door can watch their television and mine now. They can hear me and I can hear them. Privacy is gone and the joy of cool shade is no longer. "Oh I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree." |
